The original CycleHerts website has been shut down and you are looking at its replacement which is now accessible via the official cycleherts.org.uk domain. The minutes of all meetings to date have been uploaded as PDFs and are available under “Resources”.
Thirteen people attended the CycleHerts AGM in June, including representatives from almost all member organisations. Officers were elected to fill the posts of Chair, Deputy Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Nobody was willing to stand as Publicity Officer so that post remains vacant, although as webmaster I am partially filling the role.
In other news, The Association of Train Operating Companies has published a “Cycle-Rail Toolkit” containing guidelines to help railway managers and local authorities make it easier for passengers to combine cycling with rail travel – see yesterday’s article in the Railway Gazette.
CycleHerts is holding its AGM tonight at Campus West in Welwyn Garden City. We would have announced it earlier but the official website has been in limbo for the last couple of months pending transfer to new hosting. You are now looking at the new site on wordpress.com which will hopefully be kept more up to date. At the moment the old site is still live at http://www.cycleherts.org.uk but it will be shut down shortly and visitors will automatically be redirected here.
The next CycleHerts meeting will be be at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 6th December in the Sportsman Room at Birchwood Leisure Centre, Longmead, Hatfield, AL10 0AN.
The CycleHerts constitution, which was agreed at the meeting on the 20th October, 2011, has now been published. You can view it here.
Yesterday, representatives of cycling groups from Hertfordshire met in Welwyn Garden City to start CycleHerts.
